ProPanel™ Ceiling Panels — Acoustic Clouds
The panel that fixes the reflection most people forget about.
Fabric-wrapped fiberglass panels that hang horizontally above your seating. Available in 2' × 2', 2' × 4', and 4' × 4'. Cloud Anchors are included — you supply the chain, wire, or S-hooks from any hardware store.
What this fixes
You can treat every wall in the room and still have a ceiling bouncing sound straight down onto your head. That first reflection off the ceiling arrives at your seat almost as fast as the direct sound from your speakers, and it smears dialogue and collapses the height of the soundstage.
A cloud above the seating absorbs that reflection before it reaches you. In rooms with a high or hard ceiling, this is often the single biggest remaining improvement once the walls are done.
When you need a cloud

Hang the cloud above and slightly in front of the main seating — roughly between your seats and the screen, where the ceiling bounce originates.

Why fiberglass, not foam
Fiberglass ProPanels are denser than acoustic foam and absorb further down the frequency range — which matters because that's where dialogue and the body of a film score sit. Foam handles the top end and not much else.
The frameless design also reads as architecture rather than studio gear, which matters more on a ceiling than anywhere else in the room.
Fire rating — read this if you're finishing a basement
All ProPanel components are Class A fire rated per ASTM E-84. Most acoustic foam is not.
Building codes vary by jurisdiction and are applied inconsistently, so check with your local fire marshal or building inspector before installing. Third-party fire test reports are available — just ask.

Chain, wire, or S-hooks are not included — pick your preferred length at any hardware or home improvement store, then screw each Cloud Anchor into the panel and attach your lead to the eye-hook.

Before you order
Order all panels for a room at once. Fabric is dyed in batches and slight color variation between production runs is normal. Panels added later may not match exactly.
ProPanel orders cancelled after placement are subject to a $25 cancellation fee.
