Read this before you buy Galaxy for a dedicated theater

Galaxy is light and high-contrast, and that is a real trade-off in a blacked-out room. Every other pattern we carry sits on a dark, low-sheen ground, because a bright floor bounces screen light back up into your eyeline and lifts the perceived black level of your picture. Galaxy's royal blue and gold will do exactly that.

If you are building a light-controlled reference room, buy Acanthus, Mayfair or Feature Film instead. If you are building a family bonus room, a basement rec room, or a media room the kids will use in daylight with the lights on, Galaxy is a genuinely good-looking floor and the honest recommendation.

The other thing to know: this is the most expensive pattern here to seam

Galaxy repeats every 81 inches — nearly seven feet, the largest repeat in the collection by a wide margin. Every seam costs you a full repeat of material to line the design up.

Send us your room dimensions before you order this one. On a wide room the pattern allowance is large enough to change which pattern you should buy — no charge, and no obligation.

One colorway

Galaxy is made in a single colorway — gold and multicolor on royal blue. Joy lists it as Blue; you will see it called Multi on some dealer sites. It is the same carpet.

Why this, not household carpet

Residential carpet is built for foot traffic in a hallway. This is built for a room where people eat, drink and spill, and where kids sit on the floor.

Fire rating — read this if you're finishing a basement

Class 1 fire rated and CRI Green Label Plus certified for low VOC emissions.

If your room is in a finished basement or anywhere subject to inspection, this matters — many residential carpets are not Class 1. Building codes vary by jurisdiction and are applied inconsistently, so confirm with your local fire marshal or building inspector before installing. We can supply the manufacturer's test documentation on request.

Broadloom ships on a 13'6" wide roll and moves as freight, not parcel. Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your address and the quantity you order.

Before you order

Order the whole room at once. Carpet is dyed in batches, and a roll cut from a later production run will not match exactly. Ordering the full quantity in one go is the only way to guarantee a consistent floor.

Add for pattern match and waste. With an 81" repeat this matters more on Galaxy than on any other pattern we carry. Tell us your dimensions and we'll do the takeoff properly rather than have you guess.
