What this fixes

Most theater carpet is sold on looks alone, and buyers find out about pattern repeat when the installer hands them a bill for the extra yardage. Every seam in a patterned carpet costs you one full repeat of material to line the design up.

On a 40.5" pattern that's over three feet of carpet thrown away per seam. On Mayfair it's eighteen inches. If your room is wider than the 13'6" roll — meaning you are getting a seam whether you like it or not — that difference is real money.

Picking between Azure, Ruby and Smoke

Azure is teal-blue over black with gold rings — the coolest and most contemporary of the three, and the one that sits best next to grey or black acoustic treatment. Ruby is the traditional picture-palace red. Smoke is the quietest option, where the geometry drops back and the floor behaves as a dark texture.

All three sit on a near-black ground, which is the one thing a theater carpet has to get right — a light floor bounces screen light straight back up into your eyeline.

Fire rating — read this if you're finishing a basement

Class 1 fire rated and CRI Green Label Plus certified for low VOC emissions.

If your theater is in a finished basement or anywhere subject to inspection, this matters — many residential carpets are not Class 1. Building codes vary by jurisdiction and are applied inconsistently, so confirm with your local fire marshal or building inspector before installing. We can supply the manufacturer's test documentation on request.

Shipping

Broadloom ships on a 13'6" wide roll and moves as freight, not parcel. Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your address and the quantity you order.

Before you order

Order the whole room at once. Carpet is dyed in batches, and a roll cut from a later production run will not match exactly. Ordering the full quantity in one go is the only way to guarantee a consistent floor.

Add for pattern match and waste. A patterned carpet has to line up across a seam, so the usable yardage is less than the raw square footage of your room. Tell us your dimensions and we'll do the takeoff properly rather than have you guess.
