A film-reel and sprocket print on a 20.25" square repeat. Big enough to read as a real pattern, small enough to work in a normal room, in four dark colorways including Slate — a cooler grey you won't find on the other patterns.

What this fixes

Most theater carpet forces a choice: a big dramatic print that only works in a big room, or something so small it reads as plain. The middle ground is where most actual home theaters live.

Reeling's 20.25" square repeat is that middle ground. It completes itself several times across a typical room, hides traffic and spills well, and doesn't demand a 20-foot floor to make sense.

Why the square repeat is easier to install

A square repeat has no grain, which means the installer can run the carpet in whichever direction minimises seams rather than being forced by the pattern. On an awkward room shape that can be the difference between one seam and three.

It also matches more easily at the seam, so pattern-match waste is typically lower than on a large or half-drop repeat. Send us your room dimensions and we'll work out the actual yardage.

Why theater carpet, not household carpet

Residential carpet is built for foot traffic in a hallway. Theater carpet is built for a room where people eat, drink and spill in the dark, then leave the same chairs parked in the same spots for years.

Premium WearOn® Nylon resists soil, stains, wear and matting, and the printed pattern hides the crumbs and drink rings that a plain cut pile puts on display. The dark, low-sheen palette also keeps the floor from bouncing screen light back up at your eyeline — which is exactly why cinemas have used patterned dark carpet for a century.

Fire rating — read this if you're finishing a basement

Class 1 fire rated and CRI Green Label Plus certified for low VOC emissions.

If your theater is in a finished basement or anywhere subject to inspection, this matters — many residential carpets are not Class 1. Building codes vary by jurisdiction and are applied inconsistently, so confirm with your local fire marshal or building inspector before installing. We can supply the manufacturer's test documentation on request.

Shipping

Broadloom ships on a 13'6" wide roll and moves as freight, not parcel. Shipping is calculated at checkout based on your address and the quantity you order.

Before you order

Order the whole room at once. Carpet is dyed in batches, and a roll cut from a later production run will not match exactly. Ordering the full quantity in one go is the only way to guarantee a consistent floor.

Add for pattern match and waste. A patterned carpet has to line up across a seam, so the usable yardage is less than the raw square footage of your room. Tell us your dimensions and we'll do the takeoff properly rather than have you guess.
